Ruby’s Gems - Ruby Braff Live at the King Of France Tavern
Jack Teagarden once referred to Ruby Braff as “the Ivy League Louis Armstrong”… that’s a statement with infinite heft! But one listen, and the well-informed jazz aficionado will immediately notice his influences. Comfortable as a side man, or alongside Louis Armstrong or Tony Bennett, Ruby can be heard on recordings that date back to 1954. Lost for over 40 years, this recording was restored from cassette.
